The five-day 2012 TED Conference is sold out and has over 1,000 people on the waiting list. Telluride is hosting a one-day simulcast of the conference which will be free to participants (compared to $7500 per person to attend in Long Beach, CA).
This event is called TEDxTellurideLive, where x = independently organized TED event. As TEDxTelluride Live, the attendees will experience the TED Conference, live via webcast. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDxTellurideLive program, but individual TEDxLive events, including the one in Telluride, are self-organized.
